The 2nd Annual IFBA Conference: Global Biosafety and Biosecurity - Building Sustainable Capacity is being held in partnership with the 3rd Annual AfBSA Conference: Strengthening Regional Capacity for Biorisk Management in Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa in June 2011.

Immediately following the annual conference of the African Biological Safety Association (AfBSA). The IFBA conference provides a unique forum for policy makers, stakeholders, donors, international agencies and governments to interact with the African biosafety community and advance global biosafety and biosecurity.

The African Biological Safety Association (AfBSA) is a professional association that aims to congregate practitioners of biological safety, promote biosafety and biosecurity as a discipline through awareness and to facilitate the sharing of biosafety and biosecurity information in the African region. The association though three year old has membership of over 165 registered members drawn from over 30 countries from all regions in Africa.

The African Biological Safety Association (AfBSA) in collaboration with the International Federation of Biological safety Association (IFBSA) is organizing the 3rd Annual Biological Safety Conference, taking place from June 24th to June 30th, 2012 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
